Hmmmm. brother x brother's enemy or echange student x host son
if you're feeling creative and "wild" (i'm such an ass sometimes) we could try combining the two if you can't decide

Hm. It's a bit cliched. Though, hm, the brother could sort of be attention seeking? Highly charismatic, smooth, handsome and generally well liked by everyone, though the foreign kid could come in and change all of that. Sort of overtake everyone's "loyalty" so to speak. That's really all I have. Pretty vague.
Oh, well, I guess that would only incorporate brother x brother's enemy (who would be foreign exchange) and crop the host son part out.

Well... what if the brother (call him A for now) is as you say, attention seeking, highly charismatic, etc, and then here comes the exchange student. He needs a place to stay so A's brother or sister or something, who meets the foreign kid at school, brings him by and the parents say sure he can stay.
Since A is jealous and they become like 'enemies' it would be stressful to live with him. After a while, the tensions sky rocket and it turns from hate to desire (he is everything I want to be. I must have that) and eventual love or something.
Make any sense?

So then it would turn into the A and foreign exchange student? I like the idea! Though the foreign exchange kid would need a reason to need a place to stay. I suppose that can be whoever's choice on the reasoning.
I like it! It works!

Yeah, A and foreign student.
Maybe their reasoning is that they left (whether by force or by desire) from their home, and coming to the new place, they get robbed so they can't pay for an apartment. As such A's brother/sister/dog's aunt/ whatever brings him by and so their parents are like 'you can stay here for a while, till you get on your feet!' Since he's such a charming boy.

umm... I like the late teens all the way through mid thirties, depending on what the person desires. So what do you prefer?
I would like to be the foreigner, but I don't mind either way, I will be whoever.

I prefer late teens - mid twenties about. Though, since they are in school, I would have to assume they would be in high school? Perhaps the early start of senior year. I would suggest college if fine, too, though the "overtaking" would have to be of A's "crowd" so to speak.
I felt like we were both pulling for the same role ^^. It's all fine, though. I will be A. I am a bit excited, I won't lie.

And since you requested me, I'll let you be who you want. You can be the foreigner. xD

High school seniors, then? Naah, I'll be A I really don't mind! Should we start it off when foreigner is moving in? Or earlier to establish the enemy lines? Hm. You know, I think if we established the enemy lines that could be interesting and allow us to really get to know each other's characters and get a feel of the relationship between them. If that's alright

yep, high school seniors works.
If you are sure...
I was thinking the same thing, lets give them a couple of days for them to establish a relationship of disdain.
