Don't make people into heroes
heroes don't exist,
and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Character Name: Keegan White
Age: He appears to be in his mid twenties, but he's actually 523
Date of Birth: Janurary 7, 1489
Residence: Marseille, France
Profession: Investigator, lifetime flirt, vampire
Appearance:
People often would imagine that vampires are always either incredibly good looking, or are the creepy ones, cut from the same stupid mold with the same stupid looks of black hair, white face, black or red eyes, and wearing some silly white shirt with a feathery collar, and a cape. However, this thought is a completely, well, stupid one.
They look like normal people after all. Perhaps slightly more alluring to those who they wish to attract, but not some cookie cutter idea.
The same went for Keegan.
His hair was a medium brunette, with tinges of red in it. It curled in soft sweeps over his head, descending just above his grey blue eyes. His complexion was not deathly pale, but paler than it probably should be. Always pale. That was partly from the long days he spent inside, and long nights out, but mostly due to the fact that he lacked a bit of a normal blood flow through his body. Though his heart pumped it after he would feed and actually had some blood in his body, it was very little, very slow beats, trying to keep it inside and alive as long as possible.
Also, to him his whole body was just awkward. Well, it wasn't like he wasn't attractive. He was tall, strong, held a sturdy undertone, and built in all the right places, but his arms were longer than he would like, and his legs slender and lengthy.
He would often dress nicely, button down shirts being what he was most partial to wearing, paired with either slacks, or the occasional dark wash jean. If he went out, he would also, often times, wore a black coat that descended to his knees and fit his frame nicely. It was mostly because he was always out at night, but also because he was rather fond of the coat.
Standing at six feet tall he is well known to be assertive and have a firm gate, making sure to walk with grace and presence, wanting to have a good air about him.
Personality:
Keegan was born in the late 15th century, where hardly anything of great importance was happening, so he spent a majority of his life growing up faster than he probably should. He always wanted to be successful, even at a young age, and so he learned all he could and did all he could to advance himself. This caused for some issues with his family.
They couldn't keep up with him, and he knew it very well. As such he thought them to be slow, stupid and just plain boring. As were most people in his eyes. He would often use this to, what he though was his advantage. He could go to the market and be able to tell everything about any person there, including who had sex the night before. One could imagine that no one liked this, and due to that, he hardly ever, to nearly never had any friends.
He was okay with that too. Friends slowed him down in his eyes, they weren't as smart as him, and were just plain boring. Sure, sometimes when he was younger he did wish someone would come and be with him, but that rarely happened and he learned to accept it, soon growing up to just ignore the idea of friends.
Quite a few people, when he wasn't attempting to lure them in with his ways, thought him to be annoying and a bastard. He rarely held his tongue around others, often telling them everything he thought about them and the people they cared about, and this never made anyone happy.
He didn't care though, he had himself and, after becoming a vampire at twenty four, he had his gifts.
He is an incredibly intelligent guy with a passion for excitement. This was why he slept around with people when he had the chance; usually before feeding from them; and got a job as an investigator. When things got interesting, and a case arose that caught his eye, he would run through the city to chase down some murderer or someone like that. He always lived to die. He wanted the thrill and the rush to let him know that, even as a vampire, he could still maintain a 'human-like' life.
He lived to die.
Sure, these times when he ran through the town drained him of his blood faster than normal, but he loved them all the same.
History:
Born in the late 1400s, Keegan lived during a time when not much was happening in his small part the world, so his childhood was left open for all sorts of opportunities. Which he took up immediately.
He grew up in a home that was fairly well off, and showed it when they felt like it. As he thought this was boring, he, instead, chose to grow up fast, always trying to learn everything, see everything, do everything. Due to this, hardly anyone in his life could keep up with him, so they mostly left him to his own accord. This caused for a strained relationship with his family, and no friends as most people couldn't deal with his attitude.
When he turned twenty, he had long since outsmarted most people in his class, found school to be boring, and left it behind. Joining in as an investigator of murder cases, he figured that most people were overly dull and this was just an ultimate waste of time. As such, he decided to only do cases he found interesting, and degraded any of the others, and the people who worked on them. This didn't help his relationship with his colleagues, but he was brilliant, so they couldn't let him go.
At the age of twenty two, he met a vampire. Having never believed in them before, he was fascinated. The vampire, a tall dark, eerily handsome man, who's looks didn't range far from the silly examples humans give of them, took an interest in the brilliant male. Never had someone been so interested in a vampire before, so it was almost refreshing to the man.
Needless to say, the vampire became close to Keegan, seeing him each night, if to talk, or to fuck (which Keegan quickly decided he liked, even if it was a bit of a time consumer) and Keegan couldn't imagine his life without the male there. It wasn't like they were in love, hell, they weren't even friends in Keegan's eyes, but he was practically obsessed with the being, and the vampire's company was anything but boring.
One day, when he reached the age of twenty four, a case he was working on took a turn for the worse. The vampire found him from the smell of his blood that he had drank on a few occasions but never drained (usually only done to satisfy Keegan's curiosity on the subject). He was laying in a pool of blood and coughing it up as well, his chest ripped apart, mattered and over all horrid looking. Ribs were damaged, all pulled apart in various directions like he had been ripped apart by some large monster, or a large animal. There was no human way to save him, and even if they could fix his ribs, one of the ribs had punctured a small hole into his heart. Deciding what was best for his human companion, the vampire took action, and quickly started the process of turning the male into a vampire as well.
After the process was fixed, he began to work on the body, aligning things and closing them up, waiting for the vampire blood to heal the brunette. When it was all over, the only thing that couldn't be fixed was the heart. He didn't, and never would, have enough blood in him to do that. Besides, the vampire powers only go so far, that's why it's advised to stab them in the heart. They can't heal that very well.
So, Keegan lived. Or, well, sort of. He became a vampire, stuck to feast upon blood to survive, and deal with the damage to his heart the rest of his long life.
Keegan, though thankful he hadn't died that horrid way, grew to hate the idea. Soon, he snapped at the other vampire often, hating him most of the time, and after a while, the other vampire had enough. He stood up to Keegan, screamed, yelled, abused, and left. Left him completely alone to live a life he didn't know how to live, with no help what so ever.
Since then, Keegan took to only taking people home to feed on them, fuck them if they were worth it, and leaving them. Never once bothering to get attached. Most people were boring anyway, and if they weren't he didn't want to be betrayed like that again. Even if he wasn't really betrayed, he didn't quite know what else to call it.

Anything Else? The crosses and angels on his family's graves were to keep him away. After they found out about him being a vampire, they decided they were done. He was beyond help, and never wanted it anyway. So it's a protection to keep him from ever doing anything to them, though he wouldn't do so to begin with.
