A short distance out from a small town - or what used to be a town, before - there was a small convience store. It was built to be a mid-way point for the local farmers. Like everything else, it was now in ruins. Holes of various sizes peppered the walls while sunlight shone in through gaps punched in the roof by fallen debris now scattered across the floor amid broken shelving. Doors hung crooked if they hadn't outright fallen off their hinges and every window was missing some amount of glass.
But this ruined store was also different from the ruins surrounding it. It wasn't silent. Shrieks, laughter and voices rang out above the slight sound of shifting pebbles and objects as they were scrambled over and kicked around.
"I'll catch you yet, just wait and see!" A boy was half-heartedly chasing two smaller children as they climbed over a tipped shelf. The small boy paused to pull the even younger girl over the edge, who giggled as she found steady footing. "Never!" A stubborn declaration with a teasing tone revealed the game to all observers.
There were only two of these, near the front of the store. The large display window had most of the glass blown out years ago. The remaining shards had been kicked out of the window frame to lie forgotten on the ground outside, the empty frame now being used as a seat. A boy older than anyone else in the gathering lounged sideways on the ledge, back propped against the side and angled to watch both the inside and outside of the store. A girl sat not far from him, dangling her legs into the store as she watched the younger children race around the ruined room.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Out in the open field, where the ruined store was but a speck on the horizon, two boys walked side by side. Their path was by no means set, and was simply shaped in a rough, wide circle with the tiny store located somewhere close to the center.
A snarl brought their attention to the right, where a large scruffy canine creature was stalking towards them, hackles raised as wickedly sharp claws dug furrows in the ground with each step. "Beastie!" came the joyful declaration as one boy broke away from the other, racing towards the monster. He brought his hands halfway up, darkness flowing smoothly from his palms to form blades as long as his forearms. Snatching the handles out of the air he pounced, plunging the blades into the beast's hide. It snarled in pain, rearing and twisting to strike back. Blades were pushed deeper before the boy dropped, allowing gravity to assist him in slicing through the monster. He stood up again and let the dying thing drop to the ground to bleed out its final moments of life.
"Having fun?" The other boy was walking over calm as could be, completely unaffected by the twarted monster attack. "Quick and boring." Blades were released to fall to the ground, never quite making it as they dissolved in the air. With a shrug, the boys set off again.

Dante moved therw the rubble on the street, it wasn't often that he got to wander, he usually kept pretty close watch on the others just to make sure they where safe. Him and his group have been together for a long time, himself and Rin one of the girls found each other with in a few days of everything going to hell. He chuckled once at this, for his demention was and still is way worse then hell and most humans thought this world is hell, hoe wrong where they. He kicked a large chunk of cement out of his way looking towards where it went he saw a convenience store off to the side, curiouse he went in to go cheack out the new site. He could hear from where he was that ther was someone in the building, but not just one person, but many.
He smiled at this new game, he always loved to see how humans would try to destroy him next. He smiled as he walked up to the store, only stopping a few feet from where some guys were sitting, and smilied. "Lovely place you got here gents," He said in a calm tone.

Coal calmly watched as a stranger approached their current hangout. "Company..." The sing-song comment, though quiet, still echoed in the ruined store. He calmly flicked a latch on a back-sheath, prompting a long silver pole to gracefully slide into his hand. Kyrah twisted on her perch, drawing a blade slightly bigger than her hand. Devin promptly lunged at the smaller children, pushing them down behind a tipped shelf with a hiss of "Stay". Soki looked confused as her brother gave the older boy a nod and pulled her further into the makeshift shelter.
Coal hardly moved as the man got closer, simply twisting his fingers to spin the silver pole, stopping it after a half turn and sliding his hand further down the shaft. And he waited, but not for long.
"Lovely place you got here gents." Coal snorted, gently tapping the far end of the pole on the ground as Kyrah's muscles tensed to attack, a warning to wait. "Little blind, mate. Few girls with the boys." Devin took this opportunity to step halfway out from behind the shelves, gun out and aimed at the stranger. "And we don't need any more. Get lost!" Coal waved him down with his free hand that was facing the inside. Devin scowled, his gun never moving from its position, but went silent. "We could just kill him, we outnumber him easily." Her sullen muttering cut itself off as Coal gently tapped the ground with the end again.
Turning his attention back to the stranger, he raised the end of the pole so it hovered level with his knees. "It's a nice enough place for around these parts..." A flick of the wrist and a gleaming blade snaps out, light reflecting off the curved edge. "...What of it?"

Dante smiled wickedly and laughed, "Are you going to cut me? or shot me, because its just not that easy gents" he said smiling, "And ladies" he added nodding towards the girls. "Any ways there is a thing, This is a nice place, and my group is trying to find a new place to stay, doesn't mean I want to be here with you," he said smiling at them.
He moved towards them slightly, not caring about the gun pointed at him. "You can try to kill me, it wont work that well just saying." he kept moving slightly closer just to see what they will do, not like they can do much against him.

Coal smirked at the man's warning, still lounging against the empty frame. "Cutting is such a crude term, so very shallow. I was thinking more like impalement, dismembering-" "Beheading tends to kill a lot of things." Kyrah piped up happily, gesturing with her blade in front of her neck. "Bullets to the proper spots." Devin called over meaningfully, a second gun now resting in his other hand. "And that's only if you're actually trying to kill." A lazy shrug followed by a sharp gesture towards Devin. The boy simply tilted his head in acknowledgement, eyes still not straying from the stranger.
"If you want us to leave, come back in a week. If you want to share, well, your group will have to settle with the idea that we were here first, so dibbs is only fair." It sounded like a bored drawl, but his eyes were watching for any wrong moves. The idea of sharing was met with a growl from Kyrah and a rudely gestured protest from Devin, who still kept one gun trained on the stranger. Coal ignored them in favour of the man within reach of his scythe. "Take it or leave it, your call." He swung the scythe out and around, sure to rip a bloody gash if it connected. At the end of its arc he snapped it back, withdrawing the blade with a flick. The stranger would have to go through him and Kyrah to get to the children, and Devin wasn't a slouch with his guns if the man broke the first barrier.

Dante laughed still, having fun with this, "You all don't actually think you can kill me can you?" He said laughing loudly at the idea of such thing, "Know what, this might be fun, you can try to kill me I'm bored anyway's, I want to see how quickly you all give up," He said laughing again.
Dante moved forward to the one with the gun and stood in front of the barrel moving it so it was now pointing at his head, "Just shoot, you'll see how useless this gun really is against, me, and there is no way for you to miss me." He said smiling at the man holding the gun still.

Wrong move, such a very very bad move. And several things happened at once. A dozen dark tendrils shot up from the floor, several intertwining into an opaque barrier over the two smallest children, the rest moving to impale the stranger. Devin snarled as he yanked back the trigger, firing the gun at point-blank range. As the stranger didn't drop immediately, he fired three more shots as his other hand swapped guns, swinging it down under the man's arms to aim at the gut. "Try this then!" Pulling and holding the trigger caused a laser beam to shoot out. The bastard had invaded his space and he was going to make him hurt.
Meanwhile Kyrah launched herself off the ledge, drawing a matching blade out of the air and dropping to reduce the legs to bloody shreds. Coal was suddenly there, vicious daggers out to tear into anything in reach. "Even if you're not killed easily, we can cause damage and lovely agony I bet." No one touched what was his without permission.

Dante laughed as the bullets hit him point blank, not making any marks on him at. As the girl dropped from the sky he moved slightly, he smiled at her as she tried to cut his legs apart, knowing the most damage or any damage at all will be to his jeans, but he could care less. He shrugged her off and grabbed the daggers that were tarring at him and ripping them out of the man's grip tossing it somewhere else. He sighed as the man took out the laser and start firing at him gut, "How is that working for you chaps?" He asked calmly trying not to let the anger of getting attacked get to his head.
He walked towards the one with the laser and smiled "You getting anywhere with that kid," he asked letting his eyes turn red to show that he is pissed.
He looked at the others, "Okay so if none of you can see because I'm on fire, and there is smoke, I am on fire, and not hurt," he said walking away from the laser and taking off his smoking shirt to show hiss flawless skin underneath, not a mark on it. He smiled brightly, "I told you you cant destroy me"

Coal allowed his stolen daggers to dissolve in midair, reforming them in his hands again only moments later. Kyrah swung around with a snarl as she set herself up for a second round.
"I told you you cant destroy me"
Coal scoffed at the demonstration, and as a tendril of darkness tugged Kyrah away from the fight, he smoothly slid in front of Devin's laser for one of his own. A few more moments passed before the younger boy released the trigger, cutting off the beam. Not a mark on Coal, nor even a tear in clothing. "So you're harder to kill. Join the club."
Devin scowled at the stranger as he stowed the laser gun, leaving one gun with bullets in his hand. Kyrah looked pissed but stayed where she was set down. Coal watched the man for a moment more before stepping between him and Devin. A quick gesture had the boy putting away his last gun and ducking down towards the shield Coal still had in place. It opened to let him through and sealed behind him.
Coal's attention turned back to the man, idly tracking Kyrah's agitated twitches. Finally he addressed him with a smile and an overly cheerful tone. "So we don't like you, and you probably don't like us. If all you want is to prove your worthless macho strength we don't give a damn about, then kindly get out. If there's something else, speak up now damnit." His patience was really running out. If he insisted on this stupidity, then he would call the others back to help rip a cocky bastard to pieces.

Dante smiled at them, "So you are harder to kill," He sighed and walked around in a small circle to get a look around him, it was a nice place, and was big enough for both of there groups, (and it always helped to have allies in this world. "How about this, we can share the space, I have 4 other people back at our camp. Let me bring them here and we can like help and stuff," he said cocking his head to the side waiting for a answer. (sorry for it being so short, I just needed it to move faster,)

Coal and Kyrah watched with wary eyes as the man moved around the ruined store. Then came the proposal of sharing. Coal inwardly shrugged, after all, he had suggested a similar idea earlier. And the fact that they were willing to help indicated that at least there should be no threat to the younger children.
With a huff, Coal released everything. The daggers slipped out of his hands and dissolved mid-air, while the shield fizzed out in random patches. Kyrah looked at him quizically while Devin scrambled up from where he was crouching by the youngest two, a slight tilt of his head the only question. Coal grinned at the boy. "Hear that kid? He--" A dismissive gesture towards the stranger in their midst "--wants to bring his lot here, and they can like help and stuff." It was half teasing and Kyrah snarled as she realized where this was going. Devin snorted and shook his head, but a smirk indicated a willingness to follow. "Paru." The youngest boy's attention snapped over to him. "Halo touti?" The odd question was accompanied by a grin and a lazy wave to the door. The kid grinned back. "Wetos." The confident answer was paired with a finger pointing down. Coal chuckled and shifted his attention back to the waiting man. "If that is what you'd like, you are free to share for as long as either group wishes to stay."
Tendrils of darkness gently wrapped around Kyrah's wrists, tugging them down. Taking the hint, she finally stashed her blades and stalked over to what would have been a small back room, disappearing inside.
((There you go, first hint of LDE. It's not important, but if you can figure it out, kudos to you.))

Dante smiled and nodded at them, "Thank you, I'll leave to get my group," he said with a smile, this wasn't his perfect outcome but it was better them where they were living, so it will have to do.
He walked from the building running as fast as he could, gone from site in a few seconds. He made it back to his group and smiled at them. "So did you find a place for us to move to?" Rin asked questionaly, pushing her long light hair out of her face.
Dante smiled and laughed Why yes I did, though we'll have to share it for the time being, there is another group there, but we can stay there, its a old store, so there is lots of room for both of us. He smiled and waved over the others so he can tell them all that they are moving.
Suki walked up to Dante and Rin with a smile, "So were getting out of this dump, if I herd right," She said happily, her face lighting up. She never did like it in the dump of a place they have been staying.
James and Alice walk up and join the group that had now made a circle, So whats this about, he asked not sure if he herd Suki right.
Good, this place gives me the creeps, Alice pipped in.
Dante smiled at his friends and nodded, "Yes you all herd right, I found us a new place to stay with a few chaps that live there, there not half bad, but they are bloodly hard to kill, well at least the one is. So if we behave, that means you Rin, we can stay however long we want."
Rin glared at him, but knew he ment it, the other three nodded happily, glad to be leaving, Are we leaving today?" she asked raising a eyebrow.
Dante smiled at her "Yes so everyone please get ready and pack everything up, were going to have to get there before night fall, if we can, so everyone get to work, Dante smiled and broke off first, packing things as fast as he could, so did Rin. The others packed there stuff up, and brought it together, once all there Rin and Dante grabbed everything and put it on there backs "okay lets go, Suki, let James ride on you, I know it sucks but he is too slow other wise."
Suki glared at Dante for a moment mumbling something incoherent, shifting into her wolf form, James lowerd his head and got on, "sorry," he whispered to her as he got on.
They all took off, getting there with in 20 minutes, once there Dante walked into the building and put the stuff on the ground, "Hey, where can I put our stuff?" he asked one of the guys that he saw standing around. Rin and the others all joined him where he stood, looking around at everything, then looking towards the people that where there.

The watched him leave, not saying anything. Then Devin turned to Coal. "Is that even wise? Really?" A gesture to the path the stranger took indicated exactly what he meant. Coal simply shrugged. "There's room, so does it matter? If we truely clash, then we'll just leave even earlier than expected." A soft hissing echoed from the makeshift cavern the two children were still crouched in. The older boys ignored it. "If it goes wrong, it's all your fault." Coal shrugged one shoulder with a smirk, accepting it.
The two childrem finally emerged from their hiding spot, Paru grasping Soki's hand tightly. "So?" came the soft inquiry. "Genu rumas" Paru nodded solemnly while Soki brightened. "Nepamas?" The hopeful question came immediately. "Haz." The answer was gentle, accompanied by a soft pat on the head. The girl nodded happily before turning and pulling her brother off behind another tipped shelf. Devin, who had watched the interaction silently until now, simply nodded at Coal and moved to follow, climbing up on shelving until he could sit with an eye on the kids. Then he pulled out a gun and started fiddling with it. Coal by then had moved back towards the window, waiting for the new group's arrival.
Ten minutes later, they came. "Hey, where can I put our stuff?" Devin looked up, glancing quickly at the children involved in some form of game, then back to the new group, silently checking each new member. And a wolf. Slightly odd, but there's been weirder that he's seen.
Coal took the initiative to answer. Loudly. "Well, the lounge is currently being used as a sulking room..." An indistiguishable curse was shrieked from the mentioned room. Coal grinned and waited for the echo to disappate before continuing at a much more reasonable volume. "There's a little office over that way if you want to use it as storage or privacy or whatnot." A gesture to another door only half-hanging on its hinges. "Just don't bother the children and we'll get along fine." Children was accompanied by a gesture towards Devin and the shelves the younger ones were currently playing behind. The older boy scowled but said nothing, returning his attention to the gun he had out.

Dante smiled and nodded, at him, "That will do," He nodded at his group and walked towards the office, dropping all the stuff and gesturing the rest to do the same.
Once all there stuff was in the room, he picked his bow and arrows and placed them on his back, "Just explore, but be nice, some of you could get hurt, they don't really care if you will die or not, so don't piss them off," He said pointing at James, Suki, and Alice. They where the only ones he was really worried about, Rin on the other hand was stronger then even him, though she had a bad temper most of the time.
Rin shrugged it off and took off into the main store, jumping to one of the top beams, sitting there watching her new bunkmates silently.
James sat on the ground just outside of the door, cleaning is knifes silently, he wasn't much of a social person then the others, so he knew he probably not make new friends at all.
Dante walked passed him and sighed, shaking his head and continuing along to the window of the store, sitting down beside the man there.
Alice and Suki left together, they usually stuck together most of the time, if there was a new environment, they just felt safer together. Alice smiled at the kids and waved lightly. She looked to Suki and sighed, "Maybe you change back into a human sometime soon, I rather have someone to talk to, yah know... I know you don't trust them at all but try, you know they wont really have a chance with watch dog Rin up there," She said pointing to Rin on the beam, she herd a low hiss from the beam and laugh.
Suki made a huff noise and phased back into her human form, her long blond hair in a braid down her back. "Better?" she said looking around for a moment.
